David Krakauer and The 35mm Orchestra
The Big Picture, a musical and cinematic voyage into the meaning of identity, stars clarinetist David Krakauer and the jazz-inspired 35mm Orchestra, re-imagining the music and visuals of some of the most important films and scores in world cinema. Through music by renowned Oscar and GRAMMY® winning composers such as John Williams, Marvin Hamlisch, Randy Newman and Mel Brooks and culled from a diverse range of cinematic achievements- Krakauer offers a unique lens to experience the universally shared themes of place, identity, and resilience.
Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Chariots of Fire, Life is Beautiful, and other classics are the inspiration for new animated films created by the New York video company Light of Day. Groundbreaking arrangements accompany these new films providing an evening length journey for the eyes and ears.
