Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co.

Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. stars pneumatic wizard Fred Garbo and Brazilian ballerina Daielma Santos. This exquisite duo has performed around the world, transcending barriers of age and language in a seamless program that includes physical comedy, dance, juggling, and most importantly, their own creative inventions that INFLATE!

Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. has won the praise and affection of audiences around the globe.  In addition to appearances on international television and on David Letterman’s Late Show, performance highlights include the Kennedy Center, two sold-out runs at the New Victory Theater on Broadway, Playhouse Square in Cleveland, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Hong Kong International Arts Carnival.

Fred Garbo and Daielma Santos inhabit their enchanting world with tremendous aplomb and skill. The concert begins when a ten-foot cylinder slithers onto the stage and implodes.  Before long, the entire audience is playing catch with gigantic inflatable props. The big blow-up shapes dance, shimmer, balloon, deflate and bounce in a rainbow of colors. Suddenly, a globulating red cube takes on a life of its own, rolling, gliding and tumbling in synch to the music, right up to the edge of the stage. The audience gasps, and the big block teeters dramatically on the brink, quaking and bulging and changing shape before it amazes the crowd with its hilarious exit. Now the lovely ballerina dances a can-can, but her skirt starts to grow longer and longer, becoming first a ball gown, then a balloon that engulfs her and finally spirits her away.  Audiences are mesmerized by the artistic imagery and creative foolishness as Garbo and Santos perform fast-paced, energetic, clever, and universally engaging theatrical pieces.
