Espresso - Touring 10-11

… strong, sweet, and eye-opening…

Astonishing virtuosity and subtle parody - Espresso is a high speed ride through the labyrinth of the history of circus. The kind of voyage where one’s gaze can only grasp images, glimmers of light, and movement. A Rabbit. A Rock Star. A Horse Trainer? In this acclaimed Franco-Finnish collaboration, traditional circus, cabaret, and contemporary circus meet in a series of playful and surprising scenes. “…intelligence and virtuosity are embedded in the magical vignettes…”- Le Monde.

Four artists create scenes and stories, earthbound and in mid-air, through the art of juggling, dance, and aerial performance. Music, props, and costumes change and transform, creating a fantasy typical of Circo Aereo’s Artistic Director, Maksim Komaro.

Espresso is a co-production of Circo Aereo and Les Objets Volants, with contributions from Espace Simone Signoret (Vitry-le-François), and Centre des Arts du Cirque de Basse Normandie (Cherbourg). And with the support of the Espoo (Finland) Municipal Theatre, and the Ministry of Culture - DMDTS.

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes (no intermission)
